Two volumes of Breviarum Romanum (The Roman Brevirary), were printed in mid 18th century in Venice. Breviarum Romanum is a liturgical book containing the public or canonical prayers, hymns, psalms, readings, and responses of the Divine Office (the official prayer of the Church recited at various hours throughout the day and night).
This particular edition of the Roman Breviary was revised and standardized as part of the Counter-Reformation efforts of the Catholic Church. It was revised by the authority of several popes—Saint Pius V, Clement VIII, and Urban VIII. Pope Pius V (reigned 1566–1572) issued a notable edition in 1568 after the Council of Trent, and subsequent popes like Clement VIII (1592–1605) and Urban VIII (1623–1644) further revised and recognized the Breviary.
Two volumes, “Pars Hiemalis” and “Pars Autamnales” refer to the different seasons of the liturgical year, here specifically winter and autumn.
