The First edition of Anfangsgrunde der Wundarznekunst, the most famous writing of Gottlieb Richter on the treatment of wounds. This capital work was printed in seven volumes. The books were published during Richter’s time as the editor of the influential surgical journal “Chirugische Bibliothek” in the period between 1792 and 1804.
Richter was also a renowned ophthalmologist and a professor at Göttingen University and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Extremely scary copy.
All volumes are present with all 44 folding plates accounted for.

Binding: Original Leather binding, gilt-stamped, some wear along the edges of the panels.
Condition: A few dogears, vol 7 shows minor imperfections on the title page, paper browning due to ageing, red edges of the leaves, some foxing.
