The “Internationales Kaiser-Jubilaums-Schachturnier” was a chess tournament in Vienna, Austria in 1898. It was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria.

Binding: Signs of aging, mold stains, damaged spine extremes. The front panel and spine cover are gilded, and the gilt is slightly faded due to aging and bumped edges.
Condition: Inscription and dedication on the flyleaf, dated 1923/24. A title page is stained, cracked gutter, and some stains throughout the text block.
