Fargue’s text is illustrated with 16 beautiful original lithographs by Boussingault, 15 of which are full-page and hors-texte. This book constitutes one of the great graphic documents on Paris and the Parisian life of the era.
Edition limited to 180 numbered copies beautifully printed on fine Arches wove paper, ONE OF ONLY 50 COPIES PRINTED FOR MEMBERS OF “LES AMIS DE L”AMOUR DE L”ART”. This is the 2. copy of the 10 who were enumerated by letters from A to J, this is the B (second) copy and it was not for sale at the time.

Binding: Original wraps, uncut. In the original board chemise, which is slightly worn, some stains due to paper aging. Has transparent protective papers on the leaves that have lithographs.
Condition: Some minor stains on the title page, clean copy otherwise.
