Petar II Petrovic Njegos is one of the most acclaimed figure in Serbian literature, and one of the most underrated poets of European romanticism. He was a ruler of Montenegro, prince, bishop, poet and a philosopher. The Voice of a Stone-Cutter is his first major work, written at a tender age of 20, and The Freedom Song was published posthumously.
