This book is a French translation of “Four Dissertations” from 1759. divided into two parts: “Naturelle De la Religion” and “Dissertations sur les Passions sur la Tragedie Sur la Regle du Gout”- respectively (meaning that The Natural History of Religion is book no. 1 and Of the Passions, Of Tragedy and the Standard of Taste is book no. 2), also containing critical and philosophical review.

Binding: Original quarter leather binding. Giltstamped spine cover, sticker on the front cover, signs of wear, minor damage along the edges, cracked spine cover along the spine cover line, front cover partially detached, damaged leather component on the front cover near the joint.
Condition: Textblock edges colored in red. Sticker on the front pastedown paper by the previous owner, two stamps on the flyleaf and one on the title page of the first book (by the previous owner), pencil and ink inscription on the flyleaf, signed by the previous owner on the title page, pencil inscription through the textblock. Minor imperfections.
