Original photo showing the actresses Gunnel Lindblom and Christina Schollin and the actor Gosta Ekman in a scene from the 1966 film “Yngsjomordet” (the English version of the title is “Woman of Darkness”) directed by the Swedish film director Arne Mattson. The film was based on real event that took place in the night of 28th March 1889 when Hanna Johansdotter was murdered by her husband Per Nilsson and her mother-in-low Anna Mansdotter. These is one of the most notorious murders in the history of Sweden. There are more versions of how the murder happened (mainly due to the uneven testimonies of the murderers). One of the most plausible explanations is that the mother was the initiator of the murder; she killed his son’s wife, with his consent, out of jealousy because she felt that her (sexual) relation with her son was threatened. Anna was sentenced to death and she was the last woman to be executed in Sweden. Dimensions: 18, 4 x 24 cm. The photo is from the archive of the film magazine „Filmska kultura“ which has been issued at Zagreb since 1957 untill 1990’s.
