Vintage Movie Poster
Brat doktora Homera
***
Original vintage movie poster for the 1968 Yugoslav film Doctor Homer’s Brother directed by Živorad “Žika” Mitrović. The genre is close to the partisan film, and like three other earlier films in Mitrović’s career, it takes place in Kosovo immediately after the Second World War, and shows the strong influence of Hollywood westerns. The script reveals a certain influence of the then-current Black Wave, primarily in the previously unimaginable portrayal of corruption among the representatives of the newly established communist government in post-war Yugoslavia.
