Antique Print Smederevo

Striking and highly detailed antique print featuring a bird-eye’s view of the city of Smederevo, in Serbia, sieged by the Turkish Armies.  A drape style cartouche including lettered key A-K in the top right corner completes the plate.

From the book  Historia di Leopoldo Cesare continente le cose più memorabili successe in Europa, dal 1656 sino al 1670 written by Galeazzo Gualdo Priorato,  an Italian military, historian, and writer of the 17th century.

Engraved by Flemish engraver and printmaker, Gaspar Bouttats the Elder.
