The “Internationales Kaiser-Jubilaums-Schachturnier” was a chess tournament that took place in Vienna, Austria in 1898. It was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria.
The tournament was one of the strongest chess tournaments of its time, with many of the world’s top players participating, including Emanuel Lasker, Mikhail Chigorin, Siegbert Tarrasch, and Carl Schlechter. It was won by Lasker, who went on to become one of the greatest chess players in history.
