***
The book is about the famous SS Leviathan, an ocean liner that regularly crossed North Atlantic from 1914 to 1934. The ship was originally built as the Vaterland by Blohm & Voss at Hamburg.
Vaterland had only a few trips. When WWI broke out, Vaterland was in New York City where it stayed immobile for three years. The ship was seized by the United States Shipping Board in 1917 when the USA entered the war and was renamed Leviathan. At that time Leviathan was the largest ship in the world. Book gives a description of the ship and its premises with many illustrations.
