Ikebana School Manuscript

The manuscript contains the records of an Ikebana school in Fukuoka.
The manuscript documents six generations of students of an Ikebana school in Fukuoka prefecture. There are multiple half-stamps (presumably one for every student/level) in the manuscript used as confirmation that the students have completed the course of Ikebana. This manuscript is a unique testament of the former students of the school.
The manuscript contains multiple stamps of whom 1 full and 177 half-stamps of three different kinds: (69, 3 and 105 respectively). There are also annotations in red ink next to the text to the text in places.
Ikebana is considered one of Japan’s three classical arts of refinement, alongside kōdō, which focuses on incense appreciation, and chadō, which revolves around tea and the tea ceremony.
The manuscript is mid 19c.

Binding: Stitched binding with contemporary dustjacket.
Condition: Uncut, minor signs of use on the bottom of the leaves, very few dogears, multiple stamps, bamboo paper, damage due to moisture on the bottom part of the last 10 leaves, marginal damage on the rest of the textblock.
