First edition book, from 1821 Frederic Shoberl Volume I THE WORLD IN MINIATURE ILLYRIA AND DALMATIA Contemporary half leather binding, spotted, worn and bumped, spine cracked. Frederic Shoberl, or Frederick Schoberl (1775–1853), was English journalist, editor, translator and writer. The book containing a description of the manners, customs, habits, dress, and other peculiarities of Illyria and Dalmatia, characteristic of their inhabitants, and adjacent countries. From the whole series of these books, these areas were among the first described. The book was published in 1821, as indicated on each plate.
