1836 France et Marie Henri de Latouche Novel French Revolution Rare First Ed
France et Marietome premier et tome second By Henri de Latouche (France and Marry) – In French language.
Extremely rare, original first edition of the novel „France et Marie”, written by French controversial author Henri de Latouche. The author was several times accused for literary frauds and suppressed by the government for his obscure political allusions. This novel completes Latouche’s trilogy about French revolution, which began with novel „Grangeneuve” and continued with “Fragolleta.” In last part of trilogy he wanted to show that character of men is always shaped by external influences, and that all men who don’t have courage to fight the oppression will quickly become dominated. Two volumes edition. PLEASE NOTE: There is no available copy of this edition for sale on the Web. WorldCat shows only two incomplete copies in public libraries. Only case of complete set for sale.
