Romanov Tercentenary Commemorative – “K trehsotletiju carstvovanija doma Romanovyh: vospominanija o proshlom”
This rare 1913 Russian book, K trehsotletiju carstvovanija doma Romanovyh: vospominanija o proshlom (To the 300th Anniversary of the Romanov Dynasty: Memories of the Past), honors three centuries of Romanov rule. Published in Vladimir, it includes two complete parts and it’s dedicated to Serbian king Petar I Karadjordjevic.
Condition: The book comes in its original cloth binding. It contains 200 pages, 19 plates, and a 3-page addendum. There is light wrinkling on the last six leaves. The spine shows cracks along the joints, but the cover remains attached. Pages 25 and 193–194 have small paper losses (up to 3×2 cm), and the addendum’s third page has a 1 cm tear. Minor stains, scratches, and edge wear are present on the panels. Foxing is minimal. Despite these flaws, the book is in very good condition.
Rarity
This Romanov Tercentenary book, 1913, is extremely rare. Only five copies are known. The Moscow State Library holds two. The National Library of Poland has one. The Library of Congress holds one in its Russian Imperial Collection. It has never appeared in auctions across Russia, Europe, or the U.S.
This volume is a key piece for collectors of Imperial Russia, Romanov history, or early 20th-century Russian books. It offers valuable insight into the Romanov legacy. Its rarity and historical importance make it a standout item in any rare book collection.
